Jane Poynter

Jane Poynter is an author, businesswoman and environmentalist. Poynter was one of the original crewmembers of Biosphere 2.[1] Along with seven other individuals, Poynter was confined to the sealed environment for two years.

She is president of Paragon Space Development Corporation, an aerospace firm that she co-founded with several engineers and fellow biospherian, Taber MacCallum, while inside Biosphere 2. Since leaving the project, she has had experiments flown on the International Space Station, the Russian Mir Space Station, the U.S. Space Shuttle and experimental modules being flown by Bigelow Aerospace. Poynter published the books, The Human Experiment: Two Years and Twenty Minutes Inside Biosphere 2 and Champions for Change: Athletes Making a World of Difference.

Poynter discusses environmental issues through her writings and online at the International Leadership Forum blog.

Poynter also appeared on Jamie's Dream School in 2011. As a teacher for Environment she stayed in a mini Biosphere with four other students.
